Kidzeum of Health and Science is holding a seven-year anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20. The weekend will feature live performances, hands-on science programs, games, giveaways and the grand opening of the brand-new Route 66-themed exhibition, The Road to Adventure: Exploring Route 66.
Admission is free on Saturday, while Sunday will have regular admission pricing,
but includes free events throughout the day.
A ribbon cutting was held July 16 for the new Route 66 exhibit that officially debuts Saturday. The Road to Adventure: Exploring Rt. 66 invites guests to hit the road on a
hands-on journey down America’s most iconic highway. Families will explore science,
history, and culture through interactive experiences inspired by Route 66 travel and
innovation.

Events for Saturday, July 19 (free admission)
• Storytime with Alderwoman Lakeisha Purchase – 10:30 a.m.
• Live Performance by Tater Tots Rock – 11 a.m.-noon
• Discovery Lab Hands-On Science Program – 1 p.m.
• All-Day Activities:
o Giant family games (Connect 4, curling, Jenga, and more)
o Trivia and bingo
o Remote-controlled car races
o Science demos, including a new one about cars and propulsion
Events for Sunday, July 20 (general admission)
• Marvelous Magnets Science Demo – 11 a.m. (included with admission)
• Solar Printmaking Art Activity – 11 a.m. ($5 per set)
• Geometric Bubble-Making – 3 p.m. (included with admission)
• All-Day Activities:
o Family game room and outdoor activities
o Revamped science demonstrations
o Hands-on learning stations
Plus, visitors both days can enter to win prices including a basic family membership, a week of after-school programming and one-day admission passes for future visits.
